HOW TO MEMORISE
Explanation

Translated from Ustadz Firanda Andirja's Indonesian commentary (Bekal Islam). Quoted verses, hadith and duas keep their Arabic; where the commentary gave its own Indonesian rendering of them, that rendering is not translated and is marked [translation not shown].

(بِسْمِ اللَّهِ), that is, I mention the name of Allah, magnifying Him and hoping for His blessing. By mentioning Your name I seek protection from every harm that is in the heavens or on the earth. (الَّذِى لاَ يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَىْءٌ فِى الأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِى السَّمَاءِ), because everything is in His hand.
