(We rise upon the fitrah of Islam, and the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem, who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allah.)(fitrah: the religion of Islam, the way of Ibraheem u.)(Note: for the evening, one reads amsayna instead of asbahna.)
Translated from Ustadz Firanda Andirja's Indonesian commentary (Bekal Islam). Quoted verses, hadith and duas keep their Arabic; where the commentary gave its own Indonesian rendering of them, that rendering is not translated and is marked [translation not shown].
(أَصْبَحْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ اْلإِسْلاَمِ) : How beautiful it is when a Muslim opens his morning by praising Allah, acknowledging how honoured he is that in the morning he is upon the fitrah of Islam, still pure upon tawhid and unsullied by shirk. Look how many people open their morning with rituals of shirk, worshipping other than Allah or giving offerings to the jinn.
(عَلَى كَلِمَةِ اْلإِخْلاَصِ) : That is, the word of tawhid, laa ilaahaa illallahu. This is the most sublime of words: for its sake Allah sent the messengers, for its sake Allah revealed the scriptures, and over it mankind split into believers and disbelievers. Whoever is upon this word of sincerity is upon the greatest blessing.
(عَلَى دِيْنِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ) Likewise, it is among the greatest blessings for a person to be upon the religion of the Prophet Muhammad, the perfect religion, complete in every respect. It is the religion of Islam, the final and most perfect religion, which embraces all of mankind and holds in every age.
(وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيْمَ، حَنِيْفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ) that is, the religion of Ibrahim, who with his own two hands smashed the idols, the symbols of shirk, and who single-handedly struggled against all the people of his land in order to establish tawhid.
