This dua comes from the Qur'an, Surah Ali Imran, verse 53. This dua contains a declaration of faith in the revelation (the Qur'an) sent down by Allah and an acknowledgement of following the Messenger of Allah, as well as a request to be recorded among those who bear witness to the oneness of Allah. Bearing witness in this context means having deep conviction and witnessing the truth of tawhid with the heart, the tongue, and deeds.
